We are closed on all bank holidays

Out of Hours

If you feel unwell while we are closed, at night or on a Sunday or Bank Holiday, you can call NHS 111, the NHS out-of-hours service to talk to a qualified nurse or GP. You do not have to be registered with a GP to use this service.


You can also see an experienced nurse for treatment of minor injuries and illnesses, seven days a week, 7.00am – 10.00pm at the NHS Walk-in Centre. You do not need an appointment.


• For treatment and advice on a wide range of injuries.
• The centre does not treat children under two years old or road traffic accident victims.
• Open every day 8.00am – 8.00pm.
• Staffed by highly trained emergency nurse practitioners.
• If in doubt whether to use the treatment centre please call 020 8487 6000.


Regardless of the time of day, if you or anyone around you experiences severe chest pain, loss of blood or suspected broken bones, go straight to your nearest Accident and Emergency department or call 999 for an ambulance.

Accident and emergency departments are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can assess serious injuries and provide emergency treatment.

Qualified from University College London in 2001 and joined the practice in 2008. As a GP Trainer and practice education lead he is involved with teaching students and training GPs. Other interests include cardiovascular medicine and men’s health.

Dr Hassas is a member of team D but is currently unavailable to book appointments with, until Easter 2019

Dr Ashleigh Helm



Qualified from New College, Oxford in 1991 and has been a
GP since 1996.

Interests include community care of the elderly, mental health, addiction and the health of healthcare professionals.

Dr Helm is a member of team A and has clinics available on

Dr Kieron Earney



Qualified in 2003 from University College London and joined the practice in 2009. Interests include sexual health, student health and all aspects of general practice.

Dr Lucy Andrews


BSc, MBBS (Lon 1992), MRCGP, DRCOG, PGCertEd

Dr Andrews qualified from University College Hospital London in 1992. She has been working as a GP in Wandsworth since 2001 and joined the practice in 2012. She is a GP educator and trainer. Interests include paediatric & adolescent medicine, women’s health and psychotherapeutic medicine.

Dr Andrews is a member of team A and has clinics available on
Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Dr Susan Plumley



Qualified in 1982 from University College London. Partner at Putneymead since 1999. Special interests include Diabetes.

Qualified in 2010 after successfully completing her GP training at Putneymead. Dr Gray then joined as a salaried GP in 2017.

Interests include paediatrics and sexual health.

Dr Fletcher graduated with Honours from University of Leicester in 2003.

Vesna can help with issues such as anxiety and depression, work related issues, stress and acute stress reactions, chronic health conditions, low self-esteem and relationship problems.

She has over twenty five years of experience in the mental health field. She worked in a range of primary and secondary NHS and private services. She works with adult population, individuals, couples and groups.

Anastasios Argyropoulos

BSc. (First), MSc., PgDip., PsychD. (ongoing)

He has over 15 years of clinical experience in the U.K. and abroad.

He has been trained in different psychotherapeutic modalities which inform his integrative/relational approach to counselling. He is an active doctoral researcher (University of Roehampton), a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and of the British Psychological Society.

Stella Trygoni

MSc and BSc (hons) in Psychology

She has done her clinical training at the NHS, where she worked as a psychodynamic psychotherapist both in a psychotherapy department and in a counselling clinic at a G.P. practice. Also worked as a school counsellor and in intensive rehabilitation of patients with brain injury and neurological conditions.

Student Medical Centre (SMC)

If you are a registered patient at the Student Medical Centre (SMC) and wish to be seen out of Term Time when we are closed for an extended period, please contact our main site Putneymead Group Medical Practice on 020 8788 0686.

Please note that the above ONLY applies during periods of planned extended breaks and is usually advertised beforehand e.g. during school holidays when the SMC is closed. This does NOT apply during normal weekends and bank holidays.

Statement of Purpose

Under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 every registered provider must have a Statement of Purpose. A Statement of Purpose is a document which includes a standard required set of information about our service.

Dignity in care work

Dignity in care work focuses on the value of every person as an individual. It means respecting other’s views, choices and decisions, not making assumptions about how people want to be treated and working with care and compassion.

Chaperone Policy

We are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff. Sometimes you may wish to have a friend or relative in the room with you during a consultation or procedure. You can always ask to have someone with you and we will always ask before carrying out any intimate examination or procedure.

Consent Policy

We respect our patients rights to privacy and their choice of how they wish to be treated. Consent Sometimes you may wish to stop treatment or make choices in the way you receive your treatment. We also ask require implied or informed consent for sharing any medical information for referrals and GP reports. We also respect data protection act.

Infection Control

We do our best to operate in a clean and healthy environment and have procedures in place to help minimise the risk of the spread of infection. Our surgery policy for infection control is attached.


Confidentiality is a cornerstone of health care and is central to the work of everyone working in general practice. All information about patients is confidential: from the most sensitive diagnosis, to the fact of having visited the surgery or being registered at the Practice.

Putneymead Group Patient Participation

We have a Patient Participation Group at Putneymead as we want to make sure the views of all our patients are heard. The group meets at the Practice regularly in the library (floor 2) and we welcome anyone who would be interested in joining. We would like to hear your views.

Work with voluntary agencies and volunteers to develop services such as transport for those who find it difficult to get to the surgery
